Planet Tyche, Solar Flare, PlayStation Murder, and Diablo III 2005 Edition

There are talks on the Internet about a ninth planet in our solar system; and it is not Pluto. Plant Tyche, resting just outside our solar system, is 4 times the size of Jupiter and was discovered by John Matese and Daniel Whitmire from the University of Louisiana. They claim that NASA already has proof of its existence but, where it currently is in orbit, it will not be seen for another 2 years. In other space news, Wednesday night there will be a solar flare that can be seen over North America. The flare is thought to produce similar effects as the Northern Lights.

In Philadelphia a teenager, named Kendall Anderson, confessed in court to killing his mother, Rashida Anderson. Kendall's mother took away his PlayStation; which caused Kendall to attack his mother. At first he beat Rashida with a claw hammer. Afterwards Kendall tried to cremate her body in the kitchen oven, while she was still alive. And finally, he beat his mother to death with a chair leg. After admitting to the murder, Kendall told the court that he was sorry for what he did and he wish it had never happened. He says now he misses his mother.

Blizzard is close to finishing Diablo III, a long awaited game by many fans. The company has recently leaked images from what their team developed in 2005...

I am personally happy that they decided to go back to the drawing board. I now know why they chose to take 5 additional years to make Diablo III that we know today...

Too Old, Dying City, Manning/Brees Hater, Nova, and 20 Years

China is yet again being accused for altering the age of 9 athletes on their Junior Chinese Skating Team. China has been found changing the age of their gymnasts in the past; in the 2000 Olympics China made the gymnasts appear older on paper to pass the minimum age requirements, which caused their medals to be taken away last year. But this time China seems to have made their skaters appear younger than they really are. I think if they look to old, then maybe they are to old. Here is a picture below of what I'm talking about...

Courtesy of Yahoo!

This week in Newsweek Magazine; they listed the Top 10 "Dying" cities in America. Vallejo, CA was listed at number 2. The reason being was because of foreclosure. Newsweek stated that "even as recently as December, one in every 113 homes was foreclosed on, one of the highest rates in the country." Others around the Bay Area think that Vallejo isn't a dying city but a city that is rebuilding.

On February 5th, Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson was heard talking poorly about Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, and Drew Brees, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. A source stated that at a  NFL Players Association meeting Richardson "was extremely condescending to them, especially toward Peyton,” and he "was the only person on either side who was contentious. Everybody else was respectful." Peyton Manning was talking about player safety and was being heckled by Richardson. Being that Manning and Brees are both Super Bowl winners and potential Hall of Fame candidates; I would respect what they would have to say.

At the Design Innovate Create Explore summit last week; Blizzard head Mike Morhaime talked about the death of Starcraft Ghost. During the time that Starcraft Ghost was being made, so was WoW (World of Warcraft) and Starcraft 2. Unknowing that WoW's release would be such a huge hit, Blizzard thought that they had enough resources to make all three games, which came to be false. Morhaime said, "World of Warcraft exploded and we needed to make some resource decisions." This decision was to take the programmers from Starcraft Ghost and move them to WoW to help where they were needed. Personally I was looking forward to the console-based game, but understand it takes sacrifices to make awesome games; like Starcraft 2 and WoW (not that I play WoW). In other Blizzard news, on February 8th Blizzard celebrated their 20th year anniversary. Blizzard Entertainment has made a website dedicated to the celebration.

"I’m robbing you, sir." & New Blogs

In Seattle, a White Center Shell store was robbed by a very polite crook. A 55 year old man walked into the store and told the owner, John Henry, that he wanted him to empty the register. The owner asked him what he meant. The man responded, "I'm robbing you, sir." At first Mr. Henry offered the man $40, but the robber took all the money; $300, telling the owner that he had bills to pay and children to feed. He also said that if he ever got back on his feet he would pay the store back. The man was later caught due to the surveillance video going viral.

Nicest man I've ever seen...

I am coming out with two new blogs; The Hunters and the Game of the Week. The Hunters will be an ongoing story, that will be posted every Sunday, about a boy who is kidnapped and finds his purpose in life. Game of the Week will be a week long blog, where I will play a game and write a review on it and post a daily blog about the game. I have 20 weeks worth of games lined up.

Weird?, TV Record, Bomb Claims and Blizzcon

Today, Yahoo! posted a slide show of the Ten Weirdest Video Game Records. I thought it would be fun to see what made the list. First is the Largest Game of Tetris, which came out to be 1,138 square feet; it was made for the UK's Gadget Show in September, 2010. Next, came the Most Perfect Games of Wii Bowling by 85 year old John Bates, who bowled 2,850 perfect games in a row. The Oldest Voice Actor in a Video Game is Christopher Lee, who was 87 years and 124 days old when he worked on 2009's Kingdom Hearts. The Heaviest Console Light Gun, was made by Pelican for Xbox's Silent Scope, weighed 3 pounds and 5 ounces. Then came the Most Polygons Per Car in a Racing Game, 400,000 per car, which is owned by PS3's Gran Turismo 5. In Spain a group, of 10,490 people, gathered to record the Most People to Sing to a Karaoke Video Game singing Canta en Espanol. The Youngest Gamer to Achieve a Perfect Score in Dance Dance Revolution goes to 9 years and 288 day old Ryoata Wada. The Widest Variety of Player Death Animations is taken by Resident Evil 4, having 47 different ways to die. The Most Lemmings Saved is 366 by Martijn Cobussen. And finally, the Longest Cutscene in a Video Game is a scene from Metal Gear Solid 4 that comes out to be 27 minutes long.

Another record that has recently been achieved is the most viewed event on TV. Which goes to the 45th Super Bowl racking in a whopping 111 million viewers. In back to back years the Super Bowl has recorded the most viewers each year. Before the two Super Bowls, the series finale of M*A*S*H held the record, for most watched, for 27 years.

Monday, a Chechen rebel leader, named Doku Umarov, took responsibility for the airport bombing in Moscow last month. On the day of the bombing, Umarov posted a video on a Chechen rebel website saying that a "special operation" had been done. Later, he stated that "about 50 to 60 other rebels have prepared for jihad and will continue similar attacks on a weekly basis." Umarov also, stated that "many others will also follow in their footsteps and give their lives for Allah."

On a lighter note; yesterday, Blizzard Entertainment announced that Blizzcon will be returning in 2011. Blizzcon is a convention that only displays Blizzard computer game franchises; Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo. At the convention, Blizzard has a big event for each game, be it showing a new character class, debuting a new game, or showing a new area in a existing game. Blizzcon, which has been around since 2005, also has contests, demos, concerts, and much more. Every year, Blizzcon tickets sell out within the first day of being available. Which is why Blizzard now releases tickets twice instead of once; this also helps with the website shutting down because of to many visitors. This year, Blizzcon will be on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

Dark of the Moon 7/1/11

Super Bowl Sunday is known for for the big game and also the awesome commercials. Transformers: Dark of the Moon had a trailer that I thought was amazing and I can't wait for the movie to come out July 1st. Here it is...

Tell me what you think about this trailer and tell me if there are any other movies that you are looking forward to this year. Leave a comment below and hit the follow button on the right side of this blog.

31-25, Groundhogs?, Egypt, and ZOMBIES!!

Today was the 45th Super Bowl; with the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. This year it was held in Arlington, Texas, in the Dallas Cowboys' new Cowboys Stadium. Prior to the game,  Madden predicted that the Steelers would come out of the Super Bowl victorious. Madden has predicted the winning team, 6 out of 7 years; now 6 out of 8. Las Vegas' Super Bowl odds also had the Steelers (+3) winning their seventh Vince Lombardi trophy. Most other medias; ESPN, NFL Network, Yahoo! Sports, all expected this to be a close game. During the coin flip; the Packers won the toss, picking tails. The past 14, now 15, teams who won the coin toss, also won the Super Bowl. With all these different factors, it was hard to pick who would be favored this year; but the Packers came out with a 31-25 win over the Steelers.

Now with some other news, on February 2nd, it was Groundhogs Day. The holiday where people believe if a groundhog sees its shadow Spring is coming. Even though, only 39% of the time the groundhog is right... ya... Anyways, in Egypt, the Internet is back. Also, President Hosni Mubarak told the Egyptian people that he is not going run for president again in 7 months, but he will not be resigning either. Also, now the Mubarak supporters, believed to be Egyptian military in normal clothing, have come out and have attacked the rioters and press. This causing reports, such as Anderson Cooper, to go into hiding.

In video game news, Undead Labs and Microsoft Game Studios has announced that they are teaming up to make a MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) zombie survival game, for Xbox Live Arcade. Which I think is a great idea and I'm happy that someone is finally making a game like this. The game, currently named Class3, will not be like Nazi Zombies, or Left 4 Dead, it will be meant towards actual survival instead of shooting to get somewhere. I mean their will be a lot of zombie killing, but the game is meant more towards working with a group of online players to stay alive and to make choices that will alter the world, depending on what you do. I'm excited for it but I probably wont play it. Not because it doesn't sound like a great game, but because I don't have a Xbox.

Leave a comment below, and tell me what you all think about the news or if you have any questions. The next blog I post will most likely be a little news and something that I have written. Thanks for reading!

The Start

Hello, my name is Daniel. I from Martinez, California. I am currently living in Incheon, South Korea. I am here with my family; my parents, older brother, and my younger sister. I am pursuing a career in Story Writing for Video Games. I have been playing video games all 21 years of my life. I have a passion for them and how they can convey an idea to a person that could change their outlook on life.

Games that I have played are; Diablo (I, II, LOD), Star Craft (I, BW), Fable, Mario, Zelda, Fallout, Call of Duty (MW, MW2, WaW, BOps), Mega Man (X), Dead Space (1, 2, Extraction), Army of TWO (I, 40th Day), God of War, Resident Evil, etc. I have owned a SNES, N64, GBA, PS3, and computer. My PSN account is KOREAL19, if anyone wants to play online. Most of the games I buy and play have one of two things; a really compelling story line or they have a really fun online experience.

Now for the reason why I am starting this blog; it is to achieve my goal. I feel that I need to write everyday, or at least attempt to. This will not be a diary, or a journal, or a place to spill out my emotions. I will be writing reviews on things that I find important, such as; news, video games, etc. I will also be posting short stories and I plan on having a weekly entry, that will be an ongoing story. My first post will be most likely be this Sunday (Incheon's Monday, USA's Sunday). I look forward to it.
