TestYourself: Psychology

TestYourself: Psychology is a PlayStation Network exclusive that was developed by Creat Studios. The game sells for $2.99 on PlayStation Network. TestYourself: Psychology is a game that test several parts of you personality. The game is going to be released in a series of packs, that will be available each month. The initial pack contains the first two tests; Nervous System and Intelligence.

The Nervous System tests consist; visual reaction, audio reaction, endurance, reaction speed, and even and odd difference tests. The visual reaction test displays different colored circles. The game records the player's average reaction time to hit the associated button. The audio test also has the player hit the relevant button based on an audio sample. The endurance portion is just a test to see how fast the player can tap the X button with both hands; with right, or dominant hand, first and then left, or off hand. The reaction speed, or Brownian, test is a test that has you dodge four black circles as they bounce off of walls of a box that the play is trapped in. The player controls a larger red circle and tries to not collide with the black circles for as long as possible. Finally, the even and odd test has different numbers appear on the screen and the player decides if the number is an even number or an odd number.

The Intelligence tests consist of three versions of intelligence tests and a lability test. The intelligence tests have several parts; match making, basic problem solving, similarity tests, etc. Each of the test versions have the same sections but they have different questions. The lability test is a test that tests the player on basic questions, such as; math problems, locations, word problems, etc. Both types of tests are also timed tests which help determine scores.

After finishing each test the player receives a detailed analysis about their personality and test scores. There is also; a Social section, Training section, and Library section. The Social area is a place to assess your friends and to request them to do the same. The Training section is a place to practice or better your scores in either the Nervous System portion or the Intelligence portion. The Library section describes what each test does and help better understanding of other aspects of the game. The packs that will be released later on, will unlock; Memory, Attention, Emotions, Will, and Creativity. Currently, TestYourself: Psychology has 11 trophies, two of which are Hidden Trophies. Below is a link that shows that they are.

Over all I think TestYourself: Psychology is worth the buy. It is only $2.99, it is a quick download, it's always fun to test yourself :D, and you can have your friends assess you as well. I was also surprised on how accurate some of the assessments were. So, I give it a 3.75 out of 5. The score will probably change when the other packs come out. Below is trailer for TestYourself: Psychology.

Dalai Lama, Supermoon, ZOMBIE ANTS!!, Test Yourself, and Blizzard Timeline

March 10th, marks the 52nd anniversary of the 1959 Tibetan uprising. During the Dalai Lama's speech, he announced that he is going to give up his political power over Tibet. During the 1959 uprising the Dalai Lama was exiled to neighboring India and has lived there since. With the 14th Dalai Lama stepping down, his successor would most likely be a Prime Minister; in a way switching from a religious leader to a political one. This may help Tibet get more rights and ultimately help give freedom to the people of Tibet. Beijing still claims that Tibet has belonged to China since 1950, but hopefully Tibet can be given its freedom with this change of leadership.
March 19th will be the best time to see the moon in 18 years. An event called "Supermoon" will have the moon come really close to Earth, on top of that it will be a full moon as well. With this event an astrologer, named Richard Nolle, believes that the moon will inflict massive damage on the planet. Nolle and other scientists have stated that this phenomenon will effect the planet's oceans and even the planet's tectonic plates. They also state that the chance of having an earthquake is raised by less than 1%; which doesn't seen like a lot but that less than 1% could also trigger dormant volcanoes. With all this possible to happen, it still wont stop me from going out and looking at the moon.

Ah!! The zombie apocalypse is beginning!! National Geographic has recently posted an article about the discovery of a fungus, founded in Brazil by an entomologist named David Hughes, that infects an ant's brain. The fungus cuts off the brain's control over the ant's limbs, then the fungus takes control, and instructs the ant to an area where the fungus can continue to grow. And as I said, this is the beginning. Some scientist is going to cultivate this fungus and perform tests on some poor animal, causing the animal to lose control and bit the scientist to where they get infected. Then it begins to spread and bam... Zombies...

Now another story that affects your brain, but in a good way. PlayStation released a PSN exclusive titled TestYourself: Psychology. The game tests 12 different aspects of your personality. The first pack only tests two; your nervous system and your intellect. PlayStation plans to release a new pack each month which will contain the other 10 test. PlayStation stated that, "TestYourself: Psychology is a serious scientific product developed by a team of professional psychologists and counselors." And with the game only costing $2.99, it wouldn't hurt checking it out to learn more about yourself. I'll download it tonight and give a review later to let you know if its worth getting.

This year is the 20th year anniversary at Blizzard and then recently put out a video about the history of Blizzard. The video is about 50 minutes long and it shows the beginning and how they started. Here's the link if you want to check it out.

BART Seats, Tiki, MW2 Hack, and Mega Man

Recently a test was conducted on a cloth train seat on BART; Bay Area Rapid Transit, and a plastic train seat on SFMTA; San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, otherwise known as Muni. A supervisor with San Francisco State University's biology lab took samples from each seat for a study. The plastic seat on Muni had two harmless bacterias that could be killed with an alcohol wipe. While, the cloth seat on BART had both; fecal and skin borne bacterias that are immune to antibiotics. The BART seat also had many different types of bacteria and mold. After the seat were wiped with an alcohol wipe; the bacteria remained on the seat. BART has about 350,000 riders everyday; which kinda means that there are bound to be some sort of germs on the seat. So now knowing this, will you still sit down?
Tiki Barber last played in the NFL during the 2006 season with the New York Giants.

Tiki Barber, the all-time leading rusher for the New York Giants, retired at the end of the 2006 season. The next year the Giants won the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, 17-14. And he is now coming out of retirement. Tiki Barber has 2-years remaining on his current contract with the Giants. Tiki commented, "After seeing how much fun Ronde is still having, it re-ignited my fire, and I'm looking forward to the challenge of seeing if I can get back to the level of where I was." Ronde, Tiki's twin brother, plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is currently in his 15th season. Tiki will most likely be released by the Giants and the head coach of the Bucs, Raheem Morris, said he wouldn't mind having Tiki on the team. Do you think that he should come back after taking a 4 year break and are the Bucs a good fit?

If you have played Modern Warfare 2 since Black Ops came out; then you know about all the non-sense that was happening online. Players were able to get head shots through walls, jump to the top of the map, be invincible, and call in any kill streak to their choosing. Almost every match had some player using a hack. Well now Infinity Ward has taken action. They recently put out a patch update for Modern Warfare 2 on PlayStation 3 that stops hacking online. With many players still playing MW2, Infinity Ward received many complaints about unfair gameplay. Personally I'm happy to hear that I can go back online and get pwn'd by someone who actually knows R1 is the fire button. I'm not a fan of Black Ops; and I can say that because I own it, but I haven't played MW2 since the hacking first started. If you want to get online and play with me; send a message to KOREAL19, that's me. :D

This isn't me and I know that this is on XBOX but it is still awesome...

I've been getting emails about the art that I showed on the last blog. So here is another piece by Joe Ng and GENZOMAN. Mega Man ftw!!

Alien Life, Game Art, Defensive MVP, D III Updater, and Music

Hey everyone, I know that I haven't posted a blog in like a week or two. I have been trying to find a way to record gameplay on my PlayStation to post on One More Level... I finally decided to use a camera and record the screen and add commentary after. So, now that I have figured that out I will be posting regularly again and I'll start posting gameplay videos. Alright so on with the news...

Bacteria in Meteorites Aliens Journal of Cosmology

NASA recently found proof of pre-existing alien life. Dr. Richard B. Hoover, an astrobiologist at NASA, has discovered fossils of bacteria in a meteorite called CI1. Hoover has been studying meteorites, around the world, for 10 years. This past week Dr. Hoover ran tests using a scanning-electron microscope and a field emission electron-scanning microscope; after breaking apart the meteorite, which is when he discovered the fossils. There are many people online that believe that this finding is a hoax but tell me what you think.

Recently, while looking on the Internet, I found a website by Justin Page. Justin is a graphic designer who has a few pieces of artwork, by Manuel Augusto Dischinger Moura aka Manuhell, that are revamps of some old favorites, such as; Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Lion-O, and some others. Here is a sample but check out the others.

The old school game of Donkey Kong gets a new twist thanks to artist Manuhell. Click on the image to check out all of the cool extras within.

As most people know, I am a San Diego Chargers fan. Recently we acquired strong safety Bob Sanders, 2007 Defensive Player of the Year. And I am super happy we finally have a strong safety. I know that Sanders is injury prone but when he is on the field, he is a force to be reckoned with. Also as a fan, I am pleased that we have a real strong safety. The last one that we had was Rodney Harrison, who was released in 2003. I know that the Chargers had safety in Kevin Ellison, who was released after a run in with the law; and I know that we had the top rank defense last year also but Steve Gregory and Darrell Stuckley are not really top flight safeties. And the guys down at NFL Network agree.

Okay, so I'm thinking about doing a Diablo III update thing for the next couple blogs. Reason being, most people don't play Diablo; and I think that Diablo III will be worth playing (or at least worth checking out). So look out for that.

And my buddy, TommyT, recently posted a music video, from his group Rhyme and Reason, so check it out and listen to his other music.

So the question of the day is; Do you believe in "Alien Life"? Leave your answers in the comments below and hit the follow button on the right side of the blog to get updates. Links below for the stories and music above:
